Multiple accident shuts down Lagos-Ibadan Expressway
-
A multiple accident on the outward portion of the bridge leading to the popular Kara Cattle Market from Lagos along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway has caused a mammoth gridlock on the nation’s busiest road.
-
The accident, which involved two articulated trucks, two container trucks, a fuel-laden tanker and a number of cars, is said to have happened early on Wednesday morning as they were heading out of Lagos.
-
Emergency responders are already on the scene battling to clear the burnt vehicles from the bridge.
-
Although details are still sketchy, drivers and commuters spent a hectic time trying to leave or get into the nation’s commercial city with one driver telling New Telegraph that he spent almost four hours getting from Arepo to Berger – a journey which on a normal day is less than 30 minutes.
